Labour Law

Labour law is a critical area of our legal practice, and we have extensive experience in advising both employers and employees on their rights and obligations under the UAE labour laws.

Dubai is a rapidly growing city with a dynamic and diverse workforce. As such, there are various labour laws in place to protect the rights of workers and ensure fair treatment in the workplace. The free zones in the UAE ( for example DIFC, DMCC or ADGM) have their own authorities that regulate labour matters within the free zone. These authorities typically have their own employment regulations, visa and immigration procedures, and dispute resolution mechanisms. Employers operating within a free zone must comply with the labour regulations and procedures established by the free zone authority. Our team of labour law experts can provide guidance on all aspects of labour law, including employment contracts, working hours, leave entitlements, termination of employment, and dispute resolution.

We work closely with employers to ensure compliance with local labour laws and regulations, drafting and reviewing employment contracts and policies, and providing advice on managing workplace issues. We also provide legal representation in labour disputes, such as unfair dismissal claims and discrimination complaints.

We can assist in the process of onboarding new Employees, which involves drafting and reviewing employment contracts, advising on the necessary procedures for visa and work permit applications, and ensuring compliance with the labour laws of the UAE.

We can assist in the process of Termination, including advising on the legal requirements for termination, drafting and reviewing termination letters and settlements, and representing clients in disputes arising from termination. We also offer support with issues related to redundancy, end-of-service benefits, and notice periods.

Restrictive governance

We provide guidance on restrictive covenants, such as non-compete agreements, confidentiality clauses and NDA Agreements to protect our clients’ interests.

Regulatory compliance

We can assist with regulatory compliance, including legal audit and review of HR policies and procedures, to ensure that our clients are fully compliant with the labour laws of the UAE. We advise on issues such as minimum wage, working hours, and health and safety regulations, and help clients navigate the complex regulatory landscape to ensure compliance.
